Due to this activity, Meridia is often associated with side effects that includes sudden increase in blood pressure. It is advised that people taking this medication should check their blood pressure and pulse regularly. Side effects may also include headaches, muscle pain, anxiety, insomnia, and mood swings.

Ionamin is also an appetite suppressant diet pill and is suggested only for short-term management of obesity. People using this drug need to be little careful, as it may sometimes lead to development of primary pulmonary hypertension, which is a rare, fatal disease of the lungs. Hoodia again is an appetite suppressant and is believed to bring substantial results in a very short period of time.
